Brand New This Year!!!
Brand New This Year!!!
We are very excited to announce that for the first time, this year the Challenger players and cheerleaders will be included in the annual Pop Warner Little Scholars Scholastic Awards banquet. This event offers the Pop Warner organization the opportunity to recognize members for their individual achievements, participation within the organization and in the community as well as academically.
All registered active participants between the ages of 5 and 14 are eligible. Appropriate application forms are available through the CDPW Federation and at the fields during games. One player and one cheerleader will be selected to represent the Capital District Pop Warner Challenger Division each year. The selected individuals will be honored at the Capital District banquet and the Eastern Region banquet in recognition of their personal achievements.
The application is three parts; the first should be filled out by every player/cheerleader to become eligible. The second is for the coaches to complete with their assessments of the participants progress and achievements on the field of play and performance levels. The third part is for the child’s school to complete. The structure of the forms has been designed to accommodate Challenger goals and accomplishments specifically. We encourage everyone to complete the application form.
As this is the inaugural year for this special award the Capital District has been selected to BETA test the program so to speak. Please feel free to offer any helpful suggestions or comments to help us better attain a consistent and worthy application and selection process.
